Last monday, Anthology Strings went out to see our gal Allison perform in her brand new Broadway show, the Addam’s Family! The show is in previews and we had to make sure to get there as soon as they opened the doors. We all (everyone in the audience included) had a blast! We were laughing nearly non-stop, enjoying the rockin’ tangos and songs and giggling at the very creative set designs. The music and cast is incredible, including our friend, Zach James who plays Lurch. We worked with Zach this past year in his very creative new opera company, The Metropolis Opera Project. He is wicked talented and in my opinion, steals the show 🙂 Go! and you’ll see what I’m talking about. You will NOT be disappointed a MUST SEE!
This is a small blurb on the Addam’s website:
The New Yorker cartoonist Charles Addams comes to devilishly delightful life in a Broadway musical. This magnificently macabre new show is created by Jersey Boys authors Marshall Brickman & Rick Elice, Drama Desk-winning composer/lyricist Andrew Lippa (The Wild Party), choreographer Sergio Trujillo (Jersey Boys), and Olivier Award-winning director/designers Phelim McDermott & Julian Crouch (Shockheaded Peter), and features lighting by Tony Award-winning designer Natasha Katz (Aida), sound design by Acme Sound Partners (In the Heights) and puppetry by acclaimed Obie Award Winner Basil Twist (Arias With A Twist).
