A Princess Wedding

Hey Everyone!

As we enter into fall, we are also leaving behind an incredibly fun and busy summer wedding season. We played all over this state and beyond.  From farms to penthouse suites, it’s really been exciting.  This has been a wonderful year of adding new songs to our modern playlist as well as revisiting ye ol’ classics such as Canon in D, the wedding marches…

Today I was creating a wedding programs for a client.  In trying to find some good tunes, I came across the royal wedding from 2011. I remember getting up at the crack of dawn to watch. I was in Vermont playing “Evita” in a small theater and was lucky enough to have a British friend staying with me, it was so exciting and I was blown away at the music. Just last summer I visited England for vacation. It was a solo trip and therefore I got to do all the touristy things that probably no one besides me would want to do. One of my stops was Westminster Abbey, where I walked down the very path that Miss Middleton processed…

To get back to my point, I found a really nice processional today inspired by this majestic and regal walk:
Tchaikovsky’s Serenade for Strings.  I’ve pasted the three music program samples below so you can see what kind of ideas I’m working on.  Enjoy!

Oh and yes, I’m a little bit of an Anglophile 🙂
